My carpal tunnel gets worse every day and picketing really takes atoll on those muscles of the palm. If I were JJ Arms, maybe all wouldbe OK, but I`m not metal arms, so I`m stuck with a human gripextending a WGA sign two feet above my head, and the carpal tunnelcomes back and acts up like a motherfucker. Today, it`s raining, andmy bronchitis is back, the lungs submerged in mucous. Sounds likeshit you say, but my heart`s in it and the cause is more supreme thanthe stale pie from pizza hut i used to make last for a week when I wasa struggling unsigned writer. I`ve a lit agent these days, but ohwait, I`m still struggling. But I love the writing, and the picketingisn`t so far off. My palms get sweaty, the fingers lock up, and myheart`s pounding with excitement, except I`m a bit more pissed nowthan I was back a few weeks ago when my fingers were doing the QWERTY dance. Marjorie David, the sweetest woman and Paul Haggis put it best whenthey brought up international conglomerates in their interview withDavid Poland. We don`t want to fuck our agents, the producers, theshowrunners; they`re folks like us. It`s the assholes at GE, Newscorp, Viacom, etc. who don`t give a shit, and have things like washingmachines that they can mark-up to continue maintaining their revenue.Hmmm. Unjust and inhumane. Give us the pennies. please. I leave you with this:"There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can`t take part; you can`t evenpassively take part, and you`ve got to put your bodies upon the gearsand upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, andyou`ve got to make it stop. And you`ve got to indicate to the peoplewho run it, to the people who own it, that unless you`re free, themachine will be prevented from working at all!" -Mario Savio |
