iklipz and QFest 2007: The 11th Annual Houston Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival are partnering to find the best GLBTQ shorts!
Filmmakers are invited to submit their films for consideration now through August 31. Submitted films will be voted on by iklipz members
and those awarded the highest votes will be featured in an exclusive program presented online at iklipz and during QFest in September.
THE RULES:
-Submission must be under 10 minutes.
-Submission can be of any genre (drama, animation, horror, comedy, documentary). Films judged as pornographic by the programming staff will not be accepted.
-Submission must be of interest to the GLBTQ community.
-Director of submission must have clearance for all copyrighted material, providing proof upon request within 24 hours.
-Submission must be submitted no later than Friday, August 31st for consideration.
THE COMPETITION:
Between September 3 and September 14, iklipz will open voting to registered iklipz members. iklipz’s five-star voting system will be employed and iklipz members will be allowed to vote on all eligible entries with no limit to the number of votes per member. A program featuring the submissions with the highest scores will be announced online September 15. From this selection of films, the iklipz advisory committee will select a winning director, to be announced online September 17.
THE AWARD:
The winning filmmaker will be offered the opportunity to participate in a “Bridging the Gap” segment, to be videotaped September 23 at QFest 2007 in Houston. Winner will receive accommodations, festival badge, $100 spending cash, and roundtrip airfare to Houston [filmmaker is responsible for their own transportation to and from their departing airport].
