Back in 2003, one of the few years that VH-1 hasn’t done an “I Love the” special on yet, I thought it would be fun to make a series on the first viral video network – public access. The decision to do this and my way-too-vast knowledge of television resulted in TV JUNKIES, a half-hour sitcom/sketch comedy series that "spoofs yet embraces" television`s shows and common themes. I love doing the show (16 full episodes, 4 specials, and more to come) because no two episodes are ever the same. In each episode, you could see all, some, or none of the following: comedy sketches and TV parodies; special presentations; man-on-the-street segments; celebrity and TV fan interviews; bloopers; an ongoing sitcom where we meet Larry and Darryl as two guys who deal with TV-like situations in their everyday lives; or me in a Macy Gray outfit (and THAT’s what life is all about. Cut to the YouTube/MySpace/VCAST era as a new way to funnel my classic comedy series. But it soon became too many sites, too little time. And they all have restrictions. Even splitting each episode up into their various segments, it was hard to upload all of the show because it would just be too long or too big of file size for some sites. And on some sites, it gets lost in the shuffle. Well, to be honest, it’s also hard to convince a YouTuber to watch a half-hour sketchcom when they’d rather spend their time watching a cat run into a wall or a guy getting hit in the crotch while doing extreme kickboxing with a kangaroo. That’s what makes iklipz.com SO AWESOME! They have no limits on size or length. I can put up a 3 min sketch, a 13 min adventure of Larry and Darryl, or a 30 min entire episode and there’s no problem with iklipz. So now, better than ever, people can watch the parts of the show the way they want. Maybe you just want to see sketches, maybe you’re one of those people that hates syndicated sitcoms so you want the originals. Or maybe you just want to see me in that Macy Gray outfit, cause I look so damn sexy in it. If that weren’t enough, they feature comedy clips in their own section. It allows me to find the funny fast. Not to mention they have an excellent player that is leaps and bounds beyond Tube-Youay and Space-Myay (is that good pig latin?) It’s a win-win. No wonder I already have two iklipz profiles (one for TV Junkies sketches & specials, the other for Larry and Darryl`s wacky adventures) and one on the way (for complete episodes). And I give them my new content first (as of this writing, "Free-kay Friday" came only be seen on iklipz.com). And I hear murmurs of a newly updated My Profile page coming soon, so I can’t wait. Use iklipz, people. It’s great. They care about independent film and comedy, and they want yours, so that’s why they give you the time, space, and promotion to get them. So stop sending nuts to CBS to save "Jericho" - they took the hint - and put some quality films on iklipz.com right now! But don’t worry, they’ll still let you upload the crotch-kickin’ kangaroo video.
